God Dances Over His Children

Most seem to be afraid to even dare to think this thought, but God loves you, and joys over you...

Then he said to them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. - Nehemiah 8:10

As a born-again believer, have you ever considered the Lord joys over you? That He truly loves you and rejoices over you? Most seem to be afraid to even dare to think this thought, but God loves you, and joys over you. God did send Jesus Christ to redeem people to Himself, and Jesus willingly came to accomplish that purpose. This in itself should be proof of His love, and it be very evident of His joy over all who believe and receive His atonement.

In Luke 15:10 we see there is joy in the presence of angels of God over one sinner that repents, and in Zephaniah 3:17 we see the Lord is in the midst of His people is mighty to save, and that He rejoice over them with singing. This is only reasonable considering the love He has and the price He paid.

He doesn't rejoice over us because of our "greatness", or because He needs something from us, but because He created us for Himself, and He loves us. This is about Him, His love and mercy, and His purpose. He hates sin, He is angry with sinners, and He will judge sin in righteousness, but He rejoices over those who turn from sin and self and come to Him in broken humility for salvation. If you are His possession through the blood of Christ Jesus, be assured He rejoices over you, and rest in His joy. Herein is strength.

May we receive His joying over us and respond by joying over Him.
