Peace be multiplied
"In a world full of fear and turmoil everyone is looking for help and peace, and it cannot be found. Instead of finding peace, there is more and more violence... In truth, peace can be found in Christ alone. "
“May grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” (2 Peter 1:2) In a world full of fear and turmoil everyone is looking for help and peace, and it cannot be found. Instead of finding peace, there is more and more violence. Instead of help, there is deeper division between people. Hostility continues to grow.
This should not include the born-again believer, for the believers peace is found in Jesus Christ, and it is not dependent on the circumstances of this world. In truth, peace can be found in Christ alone. To be at peace with God through the blood of Christ is to know the true peace that passes comprehension.
Peter prays for God to multiply grace and peace to the Christians he is writing to. The Lord desires for His own to walk in His peace. Jesus told His disciples He would give them His peace, but this peace has its beginning, its growth, and its culmination in God the Father, and Jesus Christ our Savior. The more we know and understand the Word of God and the more we spend time with Him in prayer, the more our faith grows, and therefore, the more peace we experience.
May we hunger for the Word, run to the throne of grace, and rest in His peace. May we show to a world in turmoil His great peace.
