Some things never change

In a world of constant change, we find rest in knowing that our God is forever the same. As He was, He is and forever He will be. There is never a need to wonder or to question the character, loving kindness, mercy, grace and will of the LORD. He changes not. What comfort this gives us to have an unchanging standard to judge ourselves by. In other words, knowing God’s Word is unchanging and forever true; we can now know where we stand with God by simply letting His Word be a mirror of our hearts. We need not wonder if we are forgiven, changed, and redeemed. Nor do we need to wonder if we are in error, disobedient, and at war against God. His Word is clear on these matters and it changes not. We only need to be honest with ourselves and see if indeed our lives prove us to be the sons of God, or the sons of Satan (for a simple look at the matter read the short 5 chapter book of 1st John).
We find great peace in having this unchanging standard to look to; but even greater, God Himself does not change. God is so unchanging that there is not even a shadow of turning in Him. He will never change on us. He will never decide that He will not be gracious towards us. He will never decide that He does not love us or that He loves us less. He is the same yesterday, today and forever! Nothing changes Him. Not all the accusations of the tempter against us, not all of our faults and failures, not our inabilities and lack, nothing causes our God to change. Rest children of God in the blessed fact that our Father never changes. He has loved us, cared for us, protected us, saved us, and blessed us. He is loving us, caring for us, protecting us, saving us, and blessing us. And He forever will love us, care for us, protect us, save us, and bless us forever more! Be at peace. Our God changes not.
